Farm Resettlement Congress (http://www.farmresettlementcongress.org/)

Created by: Galen Chadwick and Dani Hyde on 3-9-2015

The Farm Resettlement Congress (FRC) movement is an alternative to politics as usual. Our restoration movement is championed by everyday people, developed under their own local management, and aims to recreate community resilience based upon their own unique history and talents. The task of every congress, large or small, is to join together to create and implement a 20-year Plan to restore food and energy security in their own watershed. FRC is not an organization, a corporation, a political party, or a political movement. It is not a religious project so much as a revival of the joy and possibilities contained in the phrase “We, The People”. FRC does not seek nor need government funding or foundation support. We have more than enough assets to do this on our own given a common purpose, a common timeline, and a vision of the future in which everyone would want to be a part. That or we are toast.
The FRC press release to the Associated Press at the Missouri State Capital, on the occasion of our public launch on February 25, 2015, is noteworthy for its sweeping vision based not upon money or power but service above self. The Farm Resettlement Congress aims to restore 1 Million Jobs, along with Food and & Energy Security. Why? People are anxious. They feel nothing positive is going to happen on time. Katrina was an eye-opener for many. No came on time, and no one is coming on time when geopolitical push comes to shove. When the chips go down, we must have the solution in place. The world has a problem. The FRC has a solution.
The 20-year Plan is based upon proven solutions already working in many places around the globe. What is new is an approach to scale, based upon horizontal (grassroots) empowerment, and framed by a 20 Year time-track to food, energy and job security. The size of the FRC solution matches the size of the problem. Natural watershed boundaries, the primacy of health, and the revival of a culture personal responsibility is the path. It’s a heavy lift, but we can do it. Forgive and forget the lunacies of political abstraction that have led us into a state of juvenile dependency. Let us aim to peacefully restore our local planning and management capabilities for our most basic human needs. The FRC takes a business approach to reestablishing a citizen-led commons.
The original American experiment in self-government, i.e., the commons, was doomed by the single bottom line mentality. Though the planet burns, the dynamic of greed, power and poverty still subordinates and divides modernity. Pathology defines the pursuit of infinite profit on this fragile, wayside planet, and now defines our species. The FRC 20 Year Plan affects a triple bottom line, but not through politics. Even “true believers” (in party-driven politics) will, at some point, learn to stop arguing with barking dogs. “Divide the conservative from the liberal by their political passions and the power to rule over them lies in the streets.” (Napoleon Bonaparte) The PDF FRC Hand Out, like the sundry templates to follow, is open source. Use and improve to your most enlightened capacity. Please follow this link: http://www.farmresettlementcongress.org/…/FRC-20-Year-Plan-…
The Whole Watershed Master Planning Catalog will soon be released (Tools, Templates and Models for autonomous food, energy and economic security in 20 years). The final product, our boilerplate “FRC Handbook,” will be rough, practical, and it will continue to evolve. This first step into a more hopeful future and this beginning will be our gift to the movement. Working title = The Whole Watershed Master Planning Catalog: Tools, Templates and Models for Autonomous Food, Energy and Economic Security in 20 Years.

March 13- 15, 2015 a FRC First Fifty Meeting will be taking place in Kansas City, Kansas. Our Mission begins by asking the questions of a hypothetical Midwest watershed group meeting for the first time - this is an exercise in making connections, defining concepts and guiding the process, aiming to help future Watershed Congresses to chart their own 20-year Plans and determine how they will be implemented. Our initial Q&A session will ultimately help us identify priorities and language to be formulated into the tools, models and templates for the consideration of the upcoming Congress of Three-Hundred meeting (TBA). If you are interested in coming and joining our discussions or have any questions, you may call Galen Chadwick at 417-712-3835. Or go to http://farmresettlementcongress.org/events/ to see the Meeting Agenda.
If you can’t make it all three days, that is okay. It costs 50$ to help pay for food and accommodations, there will be cots there. If you have any problems with the 50$ talk to Galen also about it, especially since its last minute.

Also, I would like to also add a small letter that a fellow FRC member wrote to the people.
Greetings Comrades,
A little about myself: I am a 100% service connected disabled veteran, a Father of three, I live off the grid and I advocate for many worthy projects. None of these projects as worthy as the Farm Resettlement Congress movement.
What I want to say is this movement is about WE THE PEOPLE and many Veterans already get that. Many Veterans can identify with the lack of care the government has for its' Veterans. The FRC is a movement independent of government money; it is funded by us the people.
If we cannot feed ourselves first then we have failed. If we do not have the energy we need then We have failed. If we wait for the government to come take care of us when tragedy happens then we have failed. The reality is, we as a nation are 3 days away from starvation. If and when the trucks stop rolling what then? Most answer "Fema will take care of us or I have a gun". - George Hoppes

And lastly a small blog on the internet that talks about the FRC. http://www.thejackehammerweblog.blogspot.com/…/groups-promo…

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
